Analysis: If I had to choose an actual bag, I'd probably go with either the Do-It-All or the Little Tripper, both by Land's End. First-time parents will probably ask for the DIA but I'm told that the Little Tripper is actually quite sufficient for day-to-day needs.
We actually ended up with no diaper bag at all. I discovered a backpack that actually comes with a detachable, insulated cooler so I'm using that instead. Add a portable changing kit and some bags to deal with wet or icky stuff and I'm golden, I think. Handy note: I'm told that keeping a package of diapers in the car will save your life. Sounds like good advice.
