Stroller comparison

Things I've heard from other parents:

    Combo strollers:
Best feature: ability to move the baby without waking it. Worth it even if you only use the stroller for 6 months.
Worst feature: not the most durable of strollers (the real payoff is the car seat snap in)
Most frequently heard comment: "No matter what you buy, you're gonna move into the lightest stroller you can afford as soon as you can anyhow."
Watch out for Stroller Envy - just because you can afford the $250-300 stroller doesn't mean it's the best one for your needs. By the same token, don't try to get by on an ultra cheap stroller if you don't have to - three to five badly made $70 strollers aren't worth the aggravation you could avoid by buying one $150-200 stroller.

century (http://www.centuryproducts.com)
Notes: If you're buying used, be careful when you check out older Original 4-in-1's as there was a recall on the car seat (Century says that model, the 590, has been phased out). We bought the TraveLite, you can check out the Stroller System Taste Test to see why we chose Century over Evenflo.

cosco (http://www.coscoinc.com)
Notes: Evidently Cosco strollers are made in the same factory as Combi, but what that means for quality I don't know. These strollers didn't really strike me in any way but the stroller seat/bassinet feature seemed like potentially useful.
system, B Rock 'n Roller Car Seat/Stroller not found not found Infant car seat: Turnabout, rotating handle, stay-in-car base (usable w/o), rocks or stationary. Stroller: seat rocks or stationary, seat removable as bassinet, faces front or back, 4 position fully reclinable seat, double front swivel wheels, suspension ride.

peg perego (http://www.perego.com)
Notes: These strollers are expensive but from what I saw, they'll take a serious beating. Pros: Well made, nice features, will very probably survive multiple kids. Cons: Neither cheap nor light, and I hear their customer service is spotty. All in all, if you anticipate spending a lot of quality time with a stroller (ie, if your forsee this stroller as your primary baby transport), you could do a lot worse than to invest in one. Just don't fall prey to Stroller Envy.
